Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

As we say so often, there seems to be so many things happening at Trinity each week it is often hard to keep up. One thing I cannot help notice is our growing number of visitors each Wednesday to our Trinity Community Playgroup. As you can see from the photo above it's not only a great opportunity for our little visitors but also a chance for parents to meet and catch up with each other. A huge thanks to Mrs Foley who, each week sets up, coordinates and then packs up all that is needed to provide this wonderfully engaging space for these children. A number of our current preps started their journey at Trinity attending Playgroup each Wednesday. If you have friends or family with pre school children please ensure they know that they are welcome to attend from 9am each Wednesday during the term.

Berry Street School Closure Day

Thanks to all our families for their support in enabling our staff to complete a full day of Berry Street professional learning. Trinity has now completed all the Berry Street Modules and Friday was an opportunity to recap much of the learning which has been done over a number of years. It was also an opportunity for our new staff members to develop an understanding of the philosophy and approaches underpinning the approach.

Second Hand Book sale

A special thanks to Ms Shaw and our library leaders for organizing our second hand book sale this week. Apart from raising a little bit of money for the library the activity is a great opportunity for our senior students to practise their leadership skills in organizing a school event. It is also, of course, wonderful to see children scouring through books looking for something special they would love to take home and read.

School Photos

Thank you all for ensuring children were in their correct uniforms and looking fantastic for our school photos on Tuesday. Whilst we do have some uniform variations, as we gradually move towards all children wearing the new uniform, our children all looked amazing. Once again, our teachers were extremely proud of how cooperative our children are and the many compliments received from the photographers who work with many schools across Melbourne.

Staff Update

As communicated last week, Ms Low, our Visual Arts teacher was offered and accepted a full time position at another school and so last Friday we wished her well for a new chapter in her teaching career.  We are, however, very fortunate to be welcoming back from maternity leave,  Mrs Anna Plackett in Term 3 who will take over this very important role. For those in our community who already know Anna, you will be as excited as I am to have her back in this role especially with our upcoming Art Show next term. I would like to thank Anna, who I believe is already excited about returning to Trinity after the holidays. For the remainder of the term Mrs Marinelli has ensured we have great replacement teachers so that our Art lessons can continue running smoothly for our children.

Gospel Reading for Holy Trinity Mass

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.
The eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged to meet them. When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated. Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.’
This is the Gospel of the Lord
