Sport and P.E.

In the Classroom

In the Junior School, Term 3 began by finishing off a unit of learning on basketball skills, specifically focused upon the skills of bouncing and dribbling. This focus will shift over the next few weeks as we move from our hands to our feet, with a new unit on kicking beginning this week. In Levels 3 and 4, students have been exploring the skills and strategies associated with various types of invasion games. These games, which involve invading an opponents area to try and score goals or points, will put our 3/4 students in good stead for Hoop Time later this term. In 5/6 PE, our students will spend the start of this term focused upon co-op games - building skills around teamwork, togetherness and communication.

Sports Events

It is not long now until our much anticipated Junior School Athletics Carnival. All F-2 students will be putting their running, jumping and throwing skills to the test on the afternoon of Friday 4th August, as they compete to win points for their houses. The event promises to be a lot of fun, so all parents and family members are encouraged to come along and cheer on our amazing athletes. The festivities will begin at approximately 2:00pm on the bottom oval at school.

BPPS Colour Run

On Friday 1st September, BPPS will be holding a whole-school colour run - an event that promises to be a lot of fun and excitement, while helping to raise valuable funds for our school. Not only this, but students have the opportunity to win prizes for the amount of money that they raise. All students should have brought home an information booklet from school on Thursday so have a look through it, set-up your online profile and get started!

Have a great week!
