BOOK WEEK 2023

WEEK 7

Book Week is nearly here! The Book Week theme for this year is "READ, GROW. INSPIRE''. Across the week, there will be activities held in the library for students to access in celebration, including quizzes, activities, movies, and of course our annual Dress-Up Day and competition on Thursday the 24th. it will be great to see you all in costume!

BOOK WEEK DRESS UP DAY & COMPETITION

THURSDAY 24TH AUGUST

The Book Week Dress Up Day and Competition for 2023, falls on Thursday the 24th of August. All students and staff are encouraged to Dress up as any character they chose to celebrate reading and all that entails. You can represent your house and have a chance to win First, Second and Third Prizes for this year's Book Week Dress Up Day. The competition will be help out the front of the library during lunchtime on the 24th of August.

INKHEART BOOK CLUB

The INK HEART Book Club runs on the first Tuesday of each month during each term. Lalor Secondary College encourages all students to bring their current reads down to the library on the following days during Term 3 at lunchtime:

Tuesday the 11th of July
Tuesday the 1st of August
Tuesday the 5th of September

Students will get the opportunity to chat about what books they are currently reading, get some more reading time in, and make some book recommendations to others. All year levels are more than welcome to come and join the INKHEART Book Club. See you there!🤩📚📖

PREMIERS' READING CHALLENGE

Premiers' Reading Challenge is an integral part of creating positive literacy skill within Lalor Secondary College, especially at the Year 7 and 8 level. So far we have had over 500 books read so far, helping our students to focus on developing their reading skills. Bronze, Silver and Gold Prizes will be given to those who complete the challenge as well as gaining house points for your team!

The Premiers' Reading Challenge ends September 8th, so read as much as you can for your chance to win. Keep up the amazing reading Lalor
