Excursion to Willum Warrain Bush Nursery

On Monday the 19th of June, Group 21 had an excursion to Willum Warrain Bush Nursery to purchase plants for our school's new Indigenous Garden. During our visit, students had the opportunity to explore the trails of the nursery and learn about the history and properties of various indigenous plants native to Bunurong Land, the land that Monash SDS is on. Students were also able to learn about different huts that Indigenous communities lived in a long time ago. After exploring the grounds, students helped to load a selection of plants and trees onto the bus transport back to school. These plants will be planted by students in Term 3 as part of our weekly gardening program. This excursion was a great opportunity for students to connect with their community and practise working collaboratively with their peers. Amazing work everyone.
