Wellbeing MATTERS!

Wellbeing MATTERS!

Welcome to the 2022 school year.

As we move into a new year we bring with us many hopes, joys and wonderings.

We also may experience feelings of sadness, fear or uncertainty.

These are all natural feelings and emotions that should be expressed freely. Acknowledging these states of mind allow us to live life to our best. Rather than hide or suppress these feelings, we are encouraged to talk about them, as this allows us to grow and build resilience.

Resilience is a skill, or disposition, that cannot be taught, it is lived and developed through the ups and downs of life. What we can learn is how to deal with incidents and build a repertoire of strategies to help us cope.

Michael Carr-Gregg is a leading Australian that has been working with children and young people for many years, and has much to offer in the way mental health. To find out more about Michael’s work click on the link below.

If at any time you or your child would like someone to talk to please know that at Sacred Heart School we are here to listen and support you the best way we can, in a trusting and caring manner.

All the best for 2022.

Tip of the fortnight: It can help to talk with a trusted adult if it all feels a bit much
