This term has seen the implementation of many new and exciting art forms for students at Edgars Creek Secondary. We are running Ceramics as a semester long subject in year 7, with the students having completed a spoon warm up task. The year 7's are now working on their Coral Reef Common Assessment Task. they have learnt about the threats our reefs face and are inspired by the ceramic artist and activist Courtney Mattison.

Year 8 Visual Art students have almost completed their first task for the year. A scratch back inspired by their personal experience of culture, Inspired by the indigenous artist Jimmy Pike.

Year 9 Eye of the Designer students have been exploring the elements and principles of design, perspective drawing and packaging nets.  In their first task they have created an installation of optical illusion cubes.

Year 10 Art students have been learning about symbols used in Vanitas still life paintings. 

They have planned and are now in the progress of using oil paint on board to create their own Vanitas inspired composition.
