The Story Lady visits KWS
Tuesday 30 November and Friday 3 December
How many different ways can you tell a story? Being read a story from a book is not the only way to tell stories, as children in Pre-K to Year 3 learnt this week. The children were very fortunate to have ‘The Story Lady’, Lydia Smith, visit our School and tell a story to them without using a book. Stories were told using a piece of string, drawing, singing and folding paper. Many of the stories that Lydia shared were folk tales from around the world. Each story involved the children in some way; whether through actions that they performed, chants, making sound effects or through drama. Laughter reverberated from the Reading Room as the children sat in anticipation for the ending of each story.
