Once again, I have felt grateful this week to belong to the Great Southern Grammar community.  So many people have welcomed me and supported me as I begin my new role as Head of Senior School. I am thrilled to have started nurturing our students as they navigate their way through their last few years of schooling.

Our sense of community has struck me several times this week as I witnessed the joy on our students faces as they caught up with friends and peers not seen over the holidays.  At the boarders welcome lunch I was impressed with the way our students went out of their way to speak to and connect with our new students and families. As classes begin, new, smaller communities are being built as students look around the room to see who they will be sharing their journey with in that particular course or subject or elective.

Finally, I have been delighted with the way that our Senior School community has embraced the directives passed onto us about wearing masks and eating outside.  We are lucky to be a part of this community and I am confident that the benefits of the sense of belonging we share will strengthen us all as we travel through what promises to be an unpredictable yet exciting year.
