Year 6 STEM learning - Food Waste
This week's STEM sharing is a chance to see all the wonderful shots we've taken over the past few weeks whilst we've been learning about food waste and OzHarvest whilst also cooking some delicious recipes.
We're looking forward to seeing some of the recipes that the year 6s come up with in term 4. Thank you again to the parents who have helped us out. Without you, we wouldn't be able to do it!
Year 5 STEM learning - Food Waste
We have continued learning about renewable and non-renewable energy in year 5. This week we even managed to power some small devices using a solar panel. It was amazing to see the responses to watching the power of the sun create energy in front of our eyes.
Discord - A Social Platform
Many of our children in our senior grades use Discord as a way of connecting with people online. We regularly hear them talking about this platform so thought it was a good time to share this helpful parent-focused article below.
One important takeaway I gained from it was the prevalence of harasmment and abuse that occurs in Discord for example 'Discord’s latest Transparency Report reveals that 32.8% of users were subject to harassment on the platform. 11% were victims of cybercrime followed by 8.1% of graphic content, which encompasses content previously marked as “Not Safe for Work” (NSFW).'
