Polding Cricket

Congratulations to these two super stars, Cooper Jones and Felicity Shields, who trialled last Friday in the Polding Cricket Trials. Unfortunately neither of these fabulous cricketers made it through. They were both some of the youngest players at the trials, but fingers crossed for you both next year when you are both at the top of the age pool.

Apologies to Felicity for not mentioning her in last week's newsletter to wish her luck.

St Edward's Netball

Saturday saw the end of Saturday netball games for our 5 under 10 teams. All teams have improved immensely over this past season and have enjoyed every minute of both training and their games. A special mention to the St Ed’s All Stars who finished Runners Up in the Saturday comp 10 years division.

Our Open teams need a special mention as well. These girls have been playing their absolute best every Saturday all season, representing themselves and their school with great pide. Good luck to the St Ed's Warriors and St Ed's Divas who will be playing in their Semi Finals this Saturday. Congratulations to the legends and Drama Queens for a fantastic season.

Oh and I can't forget the old girls..... Good luck to the St Ed's Butterflies (Open B division) with your Semi Finals. It will be really tough without your Coach Mrs D, however I hear there is a Trainee Coach filling the void.

NSWCPS Netball Competition

Recap of the Penrith Netball Trip

By Maye Hatton and Evie Jackson

31-8-2022

32 girls from grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 were chosen to go to Sydney, Penrith for Netball. On Monday at 9:00am, Teachers, netball girls and relatives caught the bus to represent St Edward's Catholic School for a netball competition. The bus ride was great! We watched movies, played games and rested. We stopped at Scone for morning tea and at Muswellbrook for lunch.

Once we got to Cables Wake Park (the place we stayed at) we were escorted into our rooms. The two 12/11s teams shared a room and the 8/9s and 10/s also shared. Not long after, we walked to Panthers RSL where we had an amazing dinner and a great time.

The next morning around 6:30am we all got up to get ready for our big day of netball. There was a variety of food for breakfast such as toast, cereal, fruit etc. When the bus arrived, we all packed our luggage in and hopped on the bus. After we finished training, it was time for our first game! All first games were successful, as we had all won.

After multiple tough competitions, and a few snack breaks, we were all ready for our final game.  Our Year 3 netballers came first, our Year 4 netballers came 4th and our Year 5-6 netballers both came second but the games were really close, however we all had fun.

On the way home we stopped at Muswellbrook for dinner which was at Maccas. We got home at around 9:00pm and we were all quite tired but we are all very thankful for this great opportunity and would like to thank everyone who made this happen so:

A big thank you to Mrs Gippel for organising all of this for us. A big thank you to all our coaches and and a big thank  you to all our parent/guardian/helpers who were able to get us there.

Gymnastics

On Saturday 27th August, Amity Wall attended the NSW State Championships for Gymnastics in Level 5 Division 1. Amity placed 1st overall in Vault with a score of 9.7. Amity also competed on Beam, Floor and Bars placing 9th overall in her division. Amazing work Amity, congratulations!
