Grade 2 Maths

Last week in Mathematics, students furthered their understanding of Australian money. After practising how to count and order small collections of Australian coins and notes according to their value, students were given the opportunity to do some ‘shopping’ using mini collectables. This activity involved adding money, calculating change and following a simple budget! 

Students enjoyed the hands-on aspect of this learning task and were encouraged to practise the social capabilities we have been covering in Synergy classes. This included listening to others’ ideas and using basic skills required for participation in group tasks.
