Principals' Update

Curriculum Day tomorrow 25th August

We have a busy and full agenda for tomorrow’s student free curriculum day. Teaching staff will be focusing on three key areas aligned to the school’s strategic direction.

  • We will be exploring and unpacking the Four Proficiencies in mathematics : Reasoning, Understanding, Problem Solving and Fluency. This work follows on ‘School Leader Workshops for Numeracy Improvement’ that Keith and Maddie have been undertaking. This focus on numeracy improvement is a focus for all schools in our region.
  • We will be reviewing our inquiry scope and sequence documents with a particular focus on the DET priority areas of - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia, and Sustainability
  • We will also be exploring student voice and student agency and how they can be more fully incorporated into our teaching and learning here at CNPS

Professional Practice Day Monday 29th August

  • collaboration
  • curriculum development
  • relevant professional development

Book Week

We had a wonderful Book Week parade and celebration on Wednesday run by our wonderful librarian Kim. The enthusiasm shown by children, staff and parents was amazing to see as were the incredible costumes. From Harry Potter characters to Very Hungry Caterpillars, Mrs Wishy Washies to Willy Wonkas, the love our community has for literature was clear for all to see.

Tree Update

We are pleased to announce that the Department of Education has accepted our application to the Safe Trees Program and will fund the upcoming arborists work. The works have been booked to take place in the school holidays due to the scale of the works.

District Athletics

A large team of CNPS students went off to the Coburg Athletics Track today to compete in the District Athletics competition. It was great to see so many of our students taking this next step in their sporting journey. We know they will have done CNPS proud. An update on results will be made available soon.
