It has been wonderful to see our primary students actively engaged in their mathematics units of work- measurement.

Stage 2 has been measuring different lengths both inside and outside of the classroom. They have been learning how to measure, record, compare and estimate lengths and distances in metres, centimetres and millimetres. The students thoroughly enjoyed estimating lengths, measuring and comparing their answers.

In our Infants space, Stage 1 have been reading the Mathology texts to provide a range of different learning experiences including whole class, guided groups or independent options with supportive questioning and follow-up activities. This allows students to be immersed in rich literature from the very introduction of the new unit.

Well done Stage 1 and keep up the great work!

In Science, Stage 1 have been learning about the observable changes occurring in the sky and on the land.

The students enjoyed using a globe to understand how the sun shines in different parts of the world and discovered that the Earth is 150 million kilometres away from the sun!

In Maths, Kindergarten students are learning to describe two equal parts as halves.

On Tuesday, students made fairy bread to recognise that halves are two equal parts. This was a fun and delicious learning experience for everyone!
