ADF Visit

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) offer a range of interesting and adventure-filled careers and our Year 9 and 10 students were fortunate enough to hear about some of them when the ADF paid a visit to BSC last week.

For those interested in a life in the military, there are not only a variety of careers available, but also many perks that come with the lifestyle. Students who are planning on studying at university or even those wishing to take up a trade, can potentially study through the Australian Defence Force University or undertake on-the-job training, with no HECS debt to worry about once they have finished their degree or qualification. Some of the other benefits of a career in the forces are -

  • Being paid a decent salary while you learn
  • Having the opportunity to travel throughout Australia and the world
  • Building lifelong friendships
  • Holding a degree or qualification that is recognised outside the ADF
  • Learning transferrable skills that are valuable in everyday life
  • Not having to pay tax on your salary while in the ADF

Thanks to the ADF for giving students an insight into the opportunities available and for inspiring them to excel at life, regardless of where their passion lies. If you are interested in pursuing a career in the Defence Force and would like further information, go to www.defencejobs.gov.au
