Chapel Mass

We celebrated our final Chapel Mass for this term with a Communion Liturgy on Monday morning. A special thank you to Ms Coombe's Year 10 Religious Education class for hosting our service. It was a great way to start our week.  We took the opportunity to remember in prayer our Year 11 students who are currently completing exams, as well as praying for our Year 12 students who will graduate from the College at the end of the term.

Student Empowerment Team Zoom meeting

On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 10 SET (Student Empowerment Team) was fortunate enough to meet with a fellow Edmund Rice Education School in Ireland over Zoom, Ardscoil na Mara, located along the Southeast Coast of Ireland. The meeting was facilitated to compare our differences and similarities of following the Edmund Rice Tradition, involvement in co-curricular, and participating in a holistic education. As Australian students we gained insight on how the ‘Justice and Peace’ student team in Ireland are implementing strategies for inclusivity and awareness in their school, in return our SET team shared our initiatives and explained our working proposals for creating a stronger school community. We also shared our views on each other’s countries debunking and confirming the cultural viewpoints held by each other. It’s important that our SET team is able to critically engage in the Edmund Rice spirit globally to further strengthen our communities and expand our knowledge so we can make educated decisions within our proposals. The Year 10 SET team thanks Ardscoil na Mara and looks forwards to our follow up meeting on 25 October, where we will discuss our progression and further exchange the values of our schools.

BeConnected Program

Congratulations to students involved in the BeConnected Program. The boys were interviewed by Channel 9 and SBS yesterday afternoon, filming during their tech-help session, celebrating the success it has enjoyed within the community. The BeConnected Program has brought seniors and students together, facilitating interactions between generations and deriving positive outcomes for everyone involved. The students also took the opportunity to chat to Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor, who expressed her gratitude to all involved.
