Japanese

Konnichiwa (Hello) everyone,

In the past few weeks, students at Syndal South Primary School have had opportunities to decorate their Japanese folder covers for the year, learn about the history of daruma dolls and their relation to goal setting, and also start to unpack some new Japanese words. Students have also been participating in many conversational activities to increase their exposure to the Japanese language.

This week in Japanese lessons students learned about a celebration in Japan called “Doll’s Festival”. Doll’s Festival falls on 3rd March, and it is a tradition to display dolls of the Emperor and Empress in households in Japan. Our students had a go at making their own doll displays this week! Here are some pictures of their sugoi (amazing) work!
