"to live justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with God."

Micah 6:8

Dear Parents

Last week I shared with you a commentary about this year’s scripture quote from the prophet Micah. The students have been reflecting on what it means to them. They wrote their “first thinking” about the quote and then after reading the commentary, wrote their “second thinking.” Below are some of the Year 5/6 reflections about Micah 6:8

“ To live justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with God.”

Evie

First Thinking

To live how you want to live.

To be kind

Second Thinking

To help people and put them before you.

To follow in God’s footsteps.

Jack

First Thinking

To live your life to the fullest

Love everyone and care for everyone

Second Thinking

God doesn’t want gifts, he wants people to be kind, honest and humble

Aviana

First Thinking

Be positive and be yourself.

Accept differences

Second Thinking

It helps us to think about our actions

Being just to others

Standing up for others

We ask God to empower us and lead us.

Oliver

First Thinking

Be a good person

Don’t anger people deliberately.

Second Thinking

This expresses the idea of honesty, justice and community.

Practise mercy, especially people are in pain or when we have loss

Some of the Year 3/4 students created images to show their understanding of the scripture quote.

We will continue to explore this scripture quote throughout the year.
