Assistant Principal's Message

Dear Endeavour Hills Specialist School community members,

It has been a fantastic start to the year with all students settling well into their new classroom environments. With a large number of new students having been enrolled over the new year, in addition to all of our current students moving to new classrooms, it has been a primary focus of each of our classroom teams to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment, that instils classroom and school wide expectations that link directly to our school values of being kind to ourselves, to each other, and to the environment.

A big "Well done!" must be given to all our wonderful staff and students for executing such a positive and successful beginning to the year!

Information and Open Night

Last week we celebrated our first, on site, Information and Open Night. It was a fantastic event that showcased our school and the learning that occurs. Parents and carers were given an opportunity to not only listen to important information from multiple staff from all areas of the school, but to also visit all learning spaces within the school, and speak to the relevant staff about the various programs we offer our students. Thank you to all those who attended, and we look forward to continuing this event in the coming years.

Note: If you were unable to attend the event, we have re-recorded the 'information' component of the night that will be sent out via the Seesaw platform.

School Council - Call for Parent Nominations.

We are currently in the process of re-electing our school council members for the 2023-2025 term. We are calling on any nominations, either self-nominations or nominations of others, of persons interested in being apart of our School Council for the next 2 years. As a school council member, you would play a vital role in establishing the strategic direction of the school, whilst assisting in the development of school policy and the school’s financial management.

To make a nomination, please fill out the relevant attached Nomination Forms and submit it to the school before the nomination close date, which will be at the close of business on Tuesday, February 21st, 2023.

If you required more information, please see the attached School Council fact sheet.

Please contact the school if you have any questions.

Partnerships with Parents and Carers Inaugural Afternoon Tea and Resource Making

With our school continuously working towards building a strong interactive and engaging community, we are constantly looking for new ways to build collaborative and supportive relationships with our families and local community members. As such, we are hosting a Parents and Carers Afternoon Tea from 2:00pm - 2:50pm on Wednesday, March 8th, for any parent or carer interested and available. The plan for the event will be for all those attending, to support the school and our student learning by creating various resources, whilst liaising with other staff, parents and carers.

Working Bee

On Saturday, March 25, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, we are having our first Working Bee for 2023. Working Bee's are a great way for our school community to get together and actively help support the school with its upkeep and maintenance. It's also a great way to meet staff and other parents of our school community. More information will come in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you there.

Consent Forms

This afternoon, each student will be sent home with an updated consent form. This consent form requests parent permission in specific areas that includes Media consents, Health consents, Local Excursion consents, and Dietary Information. It is requested that all consent forms be completed and returned to school with students by Monday, February 20th - or as soon as possible - so that we can update out school records.

Wishing you all a lovely, sunny weekend ahead.

Kind regards,

Tim Witcombe
