Principal's Report

with Simone Roy

School is settling into its routines now, which is great to see, with lots of great learning happening, as you walk past classrooms. This week sees the swimming carnival on Thursday and all students are expected to attend school, even if they are unable to swim for their houses, as it is a regular school day.

Students who are unable to swim are still able to cheer on their team, dress in their house colours to participate in the house parade and also run errands, such as delivering race results, all of which allow the students to still earn points towards their house tally.

The VCE Vocational Major (VM) students will be running a BBQ to help meet requirements for their Personal Development Skills (PDS) subject. The BBQ will be fired up at 10am, to allow egg and bacon rolls for recess and will continue to provide a lunch menu, including vegetarian and gluten free options. More details are advertised further in the newsletter.

Year 7 camp is coming up in Week 5, from Monday 20th – Friday 24th February. While the students won’t be able to attend the camp in the usual way at Bogong Village, for a full onsite experience, the Outdoor School – Bogong staff have put together a program that will still provide the students with a great camp experience and the opportunity to develop stronger relationships with all their peers, designed to bring all the students together as students of Mount Beauty Secondary College.

NOTICE OF SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING: School council will meet for the last time with its current membership on Wednesday 15th February at 6pm in Room 9. All school council meetings are open to school community members to attend. Please let a school councillor or the Office know if you would like to attend.
