Welcome Level One

Welcome to Level One! We are excited for a fantastic year of learning ahead. First of all, we would like to welcome our students back to Glen Waverley Primary School and extend a warm welcome to all new families who have joined our learning community. The Level One team looks forward to building positive and supportive relationships with you and your children. We’d also like to introduce Ms Amarasinghe, 1D, Ms Farch, 1E and Ms Luo, TSL, to the team. We look forward to supporting your children embrace and accomplish new learning challenges every day. Our passion is to deliver deep and valuable learning experiences throughout the year. The learners have transitioned seamlessly into Level One and are excited to continue their learning journey.

Hello GWPS families! My name is Samantha Dell’Aquila. I am very excited to be teaching in Level One again this year! We have some fantastic experiences planned for you. I have taught overseas in London before I started teaching at GWPS. In my spare time, I love to go to the gym, go on walks and in summer I love to spend time at the beach. Feel free to come say hi and I look forward to meeting more of you as the year progresses.

Hello! My name is Angelique Gabriel, and I am very excited to join the Level One team this year! I taught 6D last year, and almost every other year level during four years at my previous school. In my spare time, I like to bake sweet treats and take my two-year-old dog, Ollie, for walks at the park and along the beach. If you see me around, please come and say hi!

G’day! My name is Peter Shen and I am extremely excited to join the Level One team for the first time this year, teaching 1C. 2023 marks the 10th year of my teaching career (9th year at GWPS) and I am still loving what I do every single day. In my spare time, I love to watch movies, play tennis, go on road trips, drink coffee and eat chocolate-related desserts as well as all kinds of food! Lately I have been enjoying the evening walk with my wife and dog. If you see me around, feel free to come and say hi and I look forward to meeting more of you as the year progresses.

Hello everyone! My name is Chanya Amarasinghe. I am very excited to start at GWPS this year and be part of the Year 1 team. A few things I LOVE to do are: go on hikes, watch movies, paint and cook fun new recipes! I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my wonderful students in 1D. Thank you to all the students who have approached me to say hello. I look forward to getting to know you all and learning new and amazing things together. 

Hi, my name is Grace Farch, and I am teaching 1E this year. This is my first year of teaching, and I am very fortunate to begin my teaching journey with the wonderful community at Glen Waverley Primary School. It has been a wonderful start to the year meeting all the learners, and I am very excited about the year ahead in Level One. In my spare time, I love to bake, play tennis and relax with a good book. Please feel free to come and say hi, and I very much look forward to meeting more of you as the year progresses.

Hi everyone, my name is Lucy Luo and I will be the TSL teacher for Prep and Year one this year. A little bit about me, this is my first year of teaching and my first year working at Glen Waverley Primary School. Before becoming a primary school teacher, I also worked with children in childcare settings. I am so excited to learn and have fun with everyone and hope we could have a joyful time together in 2023.
