President's Report Term 1, 2023
- Rachel Imbesi
Hi All
It's been a great start to the year, with the kinder very busy as the children and staff settle nicely into their groups. Its hard to believe we are about to finish up for Term 1.
A big change this year is the roll out 15 hours of funded 3YO kindergarten. We are really excited to offer the 15 hours. There are so many benefits with a major one being consistency - it gives the children more time together with their teachers and friends.
A big thank you to all those who have volunteered to be on the Committee of Management this year. We have had a couple of committee meetings and it is terrific to have such engaged and dedicated parents to help lead our kindergarten community. A big shout out to Melissa and Kaitlin who organised our first family event at the Highett Bowls club in March. It was great to see our community come together. They have also been busy organising our first fundraiser of the year, our Easter Raffle. A big thank you to all those families who purchased tickets and donated Easter goodies. We hope the winners of the raffle enjoy their Easter treats.
2024 enrolment registrations for Livingston Kindergarten open on 1 May and close 30 June. Just a reminder, even if you are currently enrolled at our kindergarten, you will still need to register with Bayside Council for a 2024 placement (for example, 3YO moving to 4YO kinder). It's hard to think about next year's enrolment when we have just begun the year but it is an important process if you wish to attend in 2024.
Its been a pleasure to fulfill the role of President role over the last four years. I will be vacating the role at the end of this year. If you are interested in taking on this position for next year, please reach out presidentlivingstonkinder@gmail.com as we would love to hear from you.
As we head towards the Easter break, I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe break. We look forward to seeing you in Term 2.
Thanks
Rachel
