Swimming Carnival

Our first MGSC house event will be held on Wednesday 1 March at Oakleigh Recreation Centre pool. This is an exciting opportunity for the entire school community to gather together and show their passion and pride towards their house. This is a whole school event with students transported to and from the venue.

Students participating in the 50m freestyle trials (previously registered) must be at the school gym by 8am to have the roll marked and to board the buses to the pool.

Intermediate Lawn Bowls

On Thursday 16 February six Year 10 students attended the intermediate lawn bowls event at Hampton Bowls Club. We went in to have a fun time and support our school whilst learning some new skills, like how to actually bowl a bowl and hit a jack. Eventually we learnt how to play, through the help of some local bowlers!! There were lots of teams so we split into two teams and we each played multiple schools. Together we won lots of our games after getting off to a rocky start. Team A made it to the final. In the finals our opponent was Glen Eira Secondary College and unfortunately we lost.

Our hard work and newly learnt skills paid off as we had a fantastic time. Team spirt was flying high as a team MGSC lawn bowls cake was brought along with our journey and despite the hot weather we made lots of new friends and encouraged each other throughout the day.

A ten out of ten experience. If you ever get the chance to go lawn bowling you should definitely go.
