From the School Leadership Team

Dear parents, carers and families,

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of the second week of the first term. With the end of this week, also concludes the return to school program and we now begin the more formal structure of teaching and learning. Our students will begin working within the Literacy Workshop model to read and write and work with a range of hands-on materials to solve problems in mathematics. They will also continue their learning regarding personal and collective wellbeing. If you missed my earlier article this week regarding what’s happening with our curriculum, please go back and read it so you know what’s happening.

Welcome to our new Preps!

We had the pleasure to welcome our new young learners at CJC last Tuesday. Thank you to everyone involved, it was a smooth and pleasant start of their learning journey.  Welcome to all the new families!

Getting To Know You Afternoon

What a hugely successful community event we had yesterday afternoon. The feedback we have received from our parent community is most welcome and we are extremely delighted that we all had a chance to connect as a community. It was the first time in 3 years that we were able to facilitate an afternoon like this and we are proud that it was so well received. Keep your eye out for other opportunities to be involved.

Stationery

We understand that the stationery orders this year hasn’t gone as smoothly as previous years. The company we engage made some updates to their processes which didn’t work within our operations. We have provided feedback to them and hoping this doesn’t occur again. However, to ensure a smooth process that doesn’t negatively affect your child starting school next year, we have opted for the option to have the stationery delivered to your home instead. This will alleviate any issues and you will be able to see straight away if anything is missing and any issues.

School Council Election

Nominations are currently open to parents to be on our School Council. If you have the time and would like to positively engage in the decision-making processes of our school, please consider nominating yourself.

Grade 5/6 Camp

Our 5/6s are off to camp next week! We were very lucky to have a camp towards the start of the year, as this will provide our students, staff and parents an opportunity to form stronger bonds quickly.
