Secondary photos

Thank you to all our students for their high standards of grooming for the recent Secondary photos. The College appreciates some students have been absent for both occasions and as such we have arranged for the photographer to return to complete the photos. Whilst not yet, confirmed this date is likely to be Tuesday 31 May. All remaining individual and Homeroom photos will be taken then.

If you would still like to order photos but have misplaced the envelope the Assistant Deputy Principals are able to provide the shoot key required for ordering.

St Ignatius Learning Centre

Our newly refurbished Library opened on Monday morning. It has been so pleasing to see the large number of students explore the new facility with many commenting on how great it is. The multiple purpose learning spaces have been designed to create ample opportunities for students to learn both independently and collaboratively depending on the task at hand. We look forward to providing our students with the opportunity to submit formal feedback through a student survey to be facilitated in the coming weeks.

Secondary Assembly

We celebrated our first Secondary Assembly for 2022 yesterday in the St Louis Sports Centre. Our College Captains, Tom Stokes and Indi Korczynskyj especially recognised our Year 7 cohort for their ability to adjust to high school under extraordinary circumstances this year and acknowledged the hard dedication of our wonderful staff in continuing to provide the maximum learning opportunities for our students. The Barbershop lead by Ms Kath Alexander concluded our Assembly with a superb performance of May it Be from

The Lord of the Rings series.

SPORT

Winter NAS

Our Winter NAS Program started this week where our Years 7-10 teams played Newman College. Thank you to all students and NAS coaches for all your support in getting our Winter NAS Program off to a great start. A reminder that at the end of the term all NAS coaches will select an MVP for each team. MVP’s may not necessarily be the best player in the team, sportsmanship, leadership and commitment to the team is also taken into consideration.

Next week all teams will take on the mighty Sacred Heart College. We wish all teams the best of luck.

SSWA Cross-Country

Our Interschool Cross-Country team competed at the School Sport Cross-Country Carnival today. Of the 110 students selected, due to COVID-19 and other illnesses the team was reduced to 70, so we had an enormous challenge ahead of us. As always, our incredible athletes pushed through and managed to achieve some amazing individual and team results. We could not more proud of the students who left everything out on the course today for Team JTC!!!

Results from this carnival will be used to select our ACC Cross-Country Team. These students will have the challenging task of trying to defend our 2021 win.
