Mother's Day Stall & Breakfast

Mother's Day Stall

VCreate is a retail business run by the VCAL students as part of their Personal Development skills unit.

This term, the students involved in VCreate planned and then produced a wide variety of gifts to sell at the Mother’s Day stall. Many of the gifts were hand made and allowed the students to produce a variety of personalised items, such as, bath salts, soaps, heat bags, hampers, jewellery and keychains. The stall was open for two days and was a huge success, with many students across all year levels purchasing a gift for their mother or significant female in their life.

The Mother’s Day stall supported the VCreate students to continue to develop their teamwork, organisation, communication, literacy and numeracy skills. Money raised from the stall will fund future projects such as a planned pop-up store commencing in Term 3. VCreate will also be donating $200 to the Biggest Morning Tea for cancer research.

Thank you to everyone who supported this project.

Mother's Day Breakfast

Finally after two years, on Friday 6 May the College was able to welcome our families back on site to celebrate Mother's Day.

The response was overwhelming, as we had over 160 guests arrive for the occasion and were delighted with a breakfast spread prepared by our VCAL and Applied Learning students and staff.

The morning was opened in prayer lead by Year 10 students, Ruth Samson and Taylor Briffa. There were two live performances by lead Performing Arts students, Marienne Kimoden and Cynthia Negash who both sang beautiful songs reflecting on relationships between Mothers and daughters. The College also welcomed back two of our alumnae, Breaze and Dahlia Cremona who offered kindly helping hands for the event.

Most importantly, it was a morning for our students to express gratitude, respect and honour the Mothers and special women in their life, and to thank them for their contributions to us and our community.

Heartfelt thanks to all those who attended. We hope to see you again soon.
