Did you Know?

On Monday 20th October, 2003 ‘Brigid’s Well’ was blessed by Sister Rosemarie Joyce, Province Leader of the Brigidine Sisters in Victoria.  Gail Donovan is the artist, and she had her own connections with the Brigidine Sisters as a teacher at Kildare College, in South Australia where she lives.  Through research and meditative prayer, Gail had grown to know St Brigid.

During the ceremony, students from each class came forward and collected some water from the well for their homerooms, and The Marian Chamber Choir sung ‘Wade in the Water’ while the students filled their jars.

It was a fitting ceremony in many ways in that the theme for Marian College in 2003 was ‘Wells of Living Water’ which linked with the 2003 International theme ‘Fresh Water’.
