In our classroom we have been...

Solving open-ended tasks in math. Last week we read a book called 'The hungry Caterpillar'. Our task was as follows, we began by having some pears and apples in a bag. The total amount of fruit in the bag was 12. We then had to solve how many of each fruit were in the bag. We came up with lots of different answers to share with our peers. We practiced using drawings, tally marks and number sentences/sums.

We have also been learning to use colourful semantics when writing sentences. We practiced using the - who, what doing, what and where semantics in our sentences.

We read our class story and then labelled a picture from the story with nouns and phrases.
