Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to start by thanking those parents who expressed an interest in working in our school canteen. We have begun to work through those expressions of interest and have already negotiated some start dates with some people.
The weather has turned particularly cold this week and we have been encouraging students to ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. We do have weather proof jackets and beanies for sale at the school, alternatively students are able to wear an alternative coat/jacket/parker to keep them warm when they are outside. Please remember all additional attire should be school colours, this includes beanies, coats, head scarves and gloves.
As reported in numerous Newsletters to date this year, all schools are grappling with staffing shortages at present. A combination of COVID, Gastro, flu and extended absences is certainly placing pressure on many of our daily operations. Sadly, many of our additional programs have been reduced or cancelled.
The Department of Education is certainly closely monitoring these pressures on schools and over recent weeks some schools have had no other options but to return to Remote Learning platforms.
With Term 3 being the typical peak for illnesses, please be assured that we are diligently planning ahead to minimise school disruptions next term. We understand parent nervousness about this matter and will continue to provide transparent updates through Newsfeeds and the Newsletter.
On Friday all staff will be involved in a whole school Professional Practice Day. The school will be closed on this day. For your convenience OSHC will be operating.
Kind regards,
Mandy O’Mara
Acting Principal.
