Kharisma Kids - OSHC

Autumn is well underway and we couldn’t miss sharing the beautiful colours of these trees in Pakenham where we buy our apples fresh from the growers.  Stunning colours.

This week was National Archaeology Week.

Visit https://archaeologyweek.org/ for online information and online activities up until Saturday 21st May.

With that in mind we offered 3 activities for the Before and After School Care children.

  1.   Matching up the dinosaur to its fossils/skeleton

2.  Fossil making -  After rolling out some clay, the children made their own fossils using our dinosaur play toys.  A quick and easy activity which everyone enjoyed.

3.   Mining for Fossils and gems -  With a choc chip cookie, toothpick and a plate the children all played the role of an Archaeologist in picking away at the biscuit to release the choc chips.

They estimated how many they thought may be in the biscuit beforehand.  Then counted the final result.

And best of all they ate the remnants as a reward.

We had a few treat afternoon snacks this week as we try to finish up food in the kitchen for the Winter menu.

Aimee, Danae and Liliana all playing with the tri-ominoes game.  Challenging, yet fun.

BEFORE SCHOOL CHANGE OF HOURS from May 30th.

We have very low utilisation of the Before School Program. We want to continue to offer care in the morning so we will be modifying our start time from 6:45am to 7:15am.   This will be temporary and we will monitor the needs.  Should you need us to open before hand on a casual basis please message us the day before and we will come in at a time that can assist you.  This must be a definite booking as we are looking at ways to trim the budget whilst utilisation is low.
