DAMSAWK Cross Country

On Monday 16th May, 19 students represented our College at the DAMSAWK Cross Country at the Warrnambool Premier Speedway. There was great determination by all students as they ran in heavy rain, up steep hills and clay. Congratulations to Tilly for coming first and Lottie and Sienna for coming second in their respective age groups. A big thank you to Miss Hazeldine for standing out in the rain and wind for the day.

8 students qualified for the District Cross Country at Deakin University on Monday 23rd May after top 8 results from the DAMSAWK Cross Country the week prior. Congratulations to all 8 students on qualifying. All reports from Mrs. Parker are that the students all took on the 2km and 3km courses with determination and she was proud of their efforts. Thank you to Mrs. Parker and Miss Birch for supporting the students on the day.

WD Winter Series - Soccer

Congratulations to both our Senior Girls and Senior Boys Soccer teams who represented King’s College at the WD Winter Series Competition on Monday 23rd May. It was fantastic to field both a boys and girls team for 2022, and to see our students modelling such a high standard of sportsmanship and respect during the day. Whilst neither team took victory for the day, both teams should be commended for their perseverance against some rather tough odds. Our Boys team played with just nine players, winning both possession and the score line of their second half. Our girls team pulled together with extraordinary grit, to have multiple scoring opportunities and a truly contagious atmosphere of fun in every minute of their games. Well done to all players.

SSV State Swimming Championships

Congratulations to Josh in Year 7 who represented King's College at the SSV State Swimming Championships. Josh won his two races at the previous regional event which meant he could compete against other top athletes in the state at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Well done on this impressive achievement.

Clay Target Shooting

The collegial work between King's College and Emmanuel College has begun at Clay Target Shooting. In the last few weeks we have had a steady number of King's students heading out on a Wednesday afternoon to the Warrnambool Clay Target Shooting Club. Both the King's students and Emmanuel students have been supporting each other and working well as a team for the betterment of the sport. As an added bonus we had a special gift from God in the sky to provide the most stunning backdrop of dark clouds and a rainbow.
