National Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week starts today. This is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. Max in Year 5 is very excited about a special book that his dad, Richard Pritchard, has just published. It’s called Wylah: The Koorie Warrior, an imaginative adventure inspired by First Nations history and grounded in its culture. I’ve read it and I loved it. Some of it is set near my house! What a special time for Max and his family as we enter into Reconciliation Week.

Prep
We love to sing in the Prep classroom! The Prep students had so much fun performing and singing some songs at our Junior School assembly last week! They did a wonderful job. Thank you to the parents who were able to come and watch!

Year 2
This week in Science, the children enjoyed making their own paper helicopters. There were many colourful designs! This activity highlighted the different push and pull forces at work in the air, as well as gravity, friction and motion. It was a beautiful Autumn afternoon to be outside flying! Well done Year 2.

Year 3
The Year 3 students have demonstrated patience and good team work in setting up a big 'domino effect' during Library time together. Stefan was the team leader and felt very happy when the dominoes fell in order! Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the perfect collapse of dominoes as they watched them fall.

Year 4
These last couple of weeks have seen some amazing pieces of artwork that will be on display in the Library. The theme is “What’s on your mind”. The Year 4 students also enjoyed National Simultaneous Storytime in the Library and the activities that surrounded it. We have missed a number of our friends away with illness and look forward to their safe return.
