Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Curriculum Day

Just a reminder that this Monday 25th May is a curriculum day so students and families can take a well-deserved break. There will not be any online or onsite teaching on this day. All staff will be on-site preparing for the first day of school on Tuesday 26th for the Foundation to Year 2s. We are looking forward to seeing you back!

TheirCare will be running a curriculum day program. Bookings prior to the day are essential, so visit their website: www.theircare.com.au and click on book now in the top right hand corner to register your child’s details.

Wellbeing Wednesday Success

The feedback from families and the level of engagement of students and families for Wellbeing Wednesday was amazing! There were some brilliant creations and innovations, but most importantly everyone had a lot of fun doing it. Next week, we will be able to share a few photos of these with the community. Well done!

Return to School Plan

With the return to school for our F- 2s students starting next Tuesday 26th May and our 3 - 6s on the 9th June, we have been very busy putting together a return to school plan, which will be communicated to families soon.

While the Chief Health Officer has advised that students will not be required to maintain physical distancing at school, to support the health and wellbeing of all our students, staff and community, there will be a number of important changes to our school operations. It is important to note that changes will include:

  • Adjusted arrangements for drop off and pick up, including staggered school start and finish times.
  • Restrictions on access to the school site for anyone other than immediate school staff and students.
  • The way we conduct parent-teacher meetings and interviews.
  • Each classroom has been provided with both sanitizer and anti-bacterial hand wash so we are able to implement frequent hand washing routines in classrooms;
  • increased cleaning and sanitizing through the day and each evening
  • Drinking fountains/bubblers will be blocked off. Students can fill their personal water bottle at the tap in the classroom.
  • Student mobile phones continue to be banned (as normal) from classes for all year levels. Phones must be handed to teachers for locked storage prior to class and can only be used again after school. Students are encouraged to sanitize their phones at home each night and each morning.
  • The school council has agreed that the canteen will remain closed until further notice.

More comprehensive information and detail will be outlined in Maramba’s Return to School Plan to be communicated to families soon.
