Planning the return trip...
The Foundation, 1/2 and Specialist teachers are excited to be using planning time this week for discussions around returning to the classroom. Term planners, weekly planners and lesson development are all being rejigged to, once again, create a new normal. There will be a focus on connecting, continuity and consolidation so that the transition back to school can be as seamless as possible. Staff and students will make time to re-establish MRPS values and expectations, introduce new routines and settle back into great learning habits. I know that our staff are also looking forward to employing their newfound skills in e-Learning to further enrich their classroom programs from now on.
Meanwhile, the 3-6 teachers are busy continuing to plan and deliver learning for their remote classrooms. Though all teachers will be back onsite, the 3-6 classrooms will remain quiet for another couple of weeks. I know they, too, are looking forward to resuming face to face teaching. It won't be long now!
Our Curriculum Day on Monday, 25th May, will support staff with the transition back to school with the day being split into three main focuses - whole school requirements and information, time as Professional Learning Communities (F, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and Specialist teams) to discuss teaching, learning and assessment programs; and time in classrooms to organise resources and lessons.
