'Silver Linings' Awards

The Deakin Engagement and Access Program (DEAP) ‘Unexpected Silver Linings’ Art competition

Deakin Engagement and Access Program (DEAP) called on young artists in Years 7 and 8 to share some ‘silver linings’ that have emerged out of the many challenges of the global pandemic.

Students were asked to simply draw, paint, collage (or other media) something good that has happened to them even though we’re going through a difficult time.

Thank you to all students who sent in their art work for submission. Deakin staff and students voted on: 

• The story – creativity and originality of the depicted theme
• The quality – their overall impression of the art 

Two students from Dandenong high school won.
