Poetry Competition - Winners!

Well done to everyone who entered the LRC Poetry Competition. It must have been difficult to find the time to write while you were adapting to learning online, but creativity is so important during difficult times.

We have chosen winners from each year level, as well as some Highly Commended and Commended poets. Our winners stood out for their creativity, their imagery, and their skillful use of words, rhythm and structure. We will be sharing some of our winning poems around the school and in future issues of the school newsletter.

Teen Library Advisors

It has been delightful to welcome our Teen Library Advisors (TLAs) back to the library for the last three weeks of term. We are continuing to hold our meetings via video but students have been coming in every recess and lunchtime to help around the library. They have also been taking on new tasks such as recommending books to buy and writing books reviews for the school community.

We finished the term with a massive effort to tidy all of the shelves at lunchtime. It's a huge job, but our amazing TLAs have put every book back in the exact order, ready for the start of Term 3. Thank-you to the incredible students who gave up their lunchtime to help!

As the TLA trial period ends this term, we face the difficult task of choosing thirty students to wear the TLA badge. We will be assessing the time they contributed to the LRC, their willingness to help, their ability to take on responsibilities and help staff and students, among many other factors.

We will announce the final thirty at the start of Term 3 in a special badge ceremony.
