The library staff have been so happy to see so many students back in the library these past two weeks. We have missed the students terribly and we’re glad to see they are safe and happy.  It’s lovely to see how excited they all are to be back with their friends.

Borrowing & e-books

Books are once again able to be borrowed from the library.  When students return their books, we sanitise them and quarantine them for a full 24-hour period before returning them to the shelves.  We are following the latest advice from the Department of Education regarding the operations in the library during this time, so you can feel safe taking our books home to read.  

If students have any outstanding loans from last term, we’d encourage them to return those books so other students are able to borrow them.

E-books

We also want to remind everyone that we have an extensive collection of e-books available for loan. These can be accessed here https://killarahighschool.wheelers.co/ by signing in using your school login details. Please come to the library if you need help accessing the e-book collection.

Extended Opening Hours for Senior Students

In support of our senior students, we have decided to extend our afternoon opening hours to provide a space for senior students to study after school. Our opening hours are:

Mondays and Thursdays: 8.00am - 4:30pm

Tuesdays and Fridays: 8.00am - 4.00pm

Wednesdays 8.00am - 2:30pm (unchanged)

20 in 2020 Challenges

We have 3 fun challenges happening in the library which we are encouraging all students and staff to enter. 

1. Read 20 books in 2020
2. Learn 20 Aboriginal words in 2020
3. Knit or crochet 20 squares in 2020

There are some great prizes to be won, so come and register your interest at the library desk. We look forward to seeing you very soon.
