Word of the Month:  Responsibility

Dear team,

As I sit here writing this message, it dawns on me that this will be the last message I write as Principal of Aspire Firestone Academy.  I hope you have found our time together both challenging and rewarding.  As a principal I always worked to better myself, and in so doing did my best to set an example of what a reflective leader could look like.  I know for sure I have learned something from each on of you, and I am a better person for it.  That's the thing, I think our profession teaches us lessons that make us better people.  I did my best until I knew better, and when I knew better I did better, just like each of you.  Each one of you has what it takes to carry Firestone forward.  You are enough.  I know change is not easy, and with uncertainty comes some level of anxiety.  Do know that the best days are ahead, and I am going to be sitting in the stands cheering each one of you on.  Firestone will always be in my heart, and although I am sad to leave the principal's seat, this isn't good bye, and it's not even a see you later, cause I'm still here!  There are no words to express how grateful I am that each one of you has been in my life.  I feel privileged that you have allowed me to be your leader.  I can say from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
