GRADE 4 CERES EXCURSION

On Monday the 20th of August Grade Four went to CERES to learn about sustainability and different cultures.”

- Liam M. 4W

There was an activity where you had to balance water on your head. It was really fun, I got as wet as a whale.”

- Grace G. 4W

The last activity we did was a walk to taste and smell some native Australian foods, one of my favourite native Aussie foods was the mint, it tasted papery and incredibly like toothpaste! - Grace R. 4W

I loved the experience of living life in another country and experiencing things we could not of done here. It was interesting and engaging and it was definitely one of my favourite excursions. I loved CERES! - Zara M. 4V

When we got to the little bush area Ryan (our guide) gave some of us this green and white leaf. I didn’t get to try it but the kids who did said it tasted like garlic and peas. Next we walked to a small fence and Ryan gave us some leaves and possum fur to share around. I didn’t get the possum fur but I got to taste the leaves. They tasted like spinach. - Xavier H. 4V

DISTRICT ATHLETICS

Day 4 of Spring brought perfect weather for the District Athletics Day. Our students have been practising since our Whole School Athletics Day and have been working on technique and speed. The students were excited to compete against students from eight different schools across our district. Students competed in multiple track, field, and ball sports events. All students demonstrated great sportsmanship and gave it their all on the day. Mr Allen and myself were super impressed with the attitude of all the students competing. Their eagerness and want to do their best for their school and themselves really stood out. We we proud of all the efforts of the students on the day and would like to thank the students for making it a fantastic day. Their attitude and behaviour was outstanding!

A special mention to Jackson Hobday, Felicity van Rensberg, Tegan Rule and Zac Cossey for making through to Division and will compete on the 11th of October. This is a fantastic outcome for these students and we look forward to hearing about their results.

GREAT EFFORT GIRLS

YAY! LIBURAN SEKOLAH!

Halo anak-anak! Wow, can you believe term 3 is almost over already? We have had a lot of fun in Indonesian this term following the CBL theme of Life on Land. I hope the children have been sharing what they have been doing in class with you!

The holidays are a great time to practice your Indonesian with the Languages Online App! It doesn’t need wi-fi so would be perfect to use on long journeys!!

Next term we welcome teachers and students from our Indonesian Sister School. Thank you to those families who will be hosting these children.

Enjoy your holidays!

Sampai Jumpa!

                                           Charlie’s tip of the week:

“Knowing your Indonesian numbers to 20 is tricky, but once you have mastered them, getting to 100 is easy!! Languages Online is a HEBAT way to learn your numbers!“
