Year 7: My Passion, My Place, My Purpose

Year 7 Project: My Passion, My Place, My Purpose

Students in Year 7 have spent Term 4 working on a cross-curricular creative enquiry titled My Passion, My Place, My Purpose. Students were given the opportunity to explore their passions to discover what motivates them. Their research and hard work culminated in an Exhibition showcase which they shared with their peers, parents, staff and community.

Accepting people for who they are

Written by Mia Rogerson, Year 7

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Guardians,

This term the Year 7 students have had to find out their passion for an assignment called My Passion, My Place, My Purpose. My passion is accepting people for who they are!

I have noticed over the past few years, that people judge others because of how they look or where they are from. People don’t deserve to be treated differently because of some silly reason. I get that you may feel as though people are better than you  but that doesn’t give you any reason not to accept them. I would like you to spend a few minutes to think about how you treat others and how you can change your actions towards others. It may make a big change to someone’s day.

Yours sincerely

Mia Rogerson

Te Aroha Whanau - Family Connection

Created by Holly Robilliard, Year 7

Today I am here to tell you about my passion, my place, my purpose and that is Family Connection. My family connection is rugby but that's not the only way we connect with each other.

I have made this video to show you what family connection means to me. I hope it makes you want to connect with your family. Personally, my family loves rugby but that’s not the only way we connect with one another. We use our culture to connect as well. My family descends from New Zealand and the South Islands (Niue). We use our culture, and something we all love, to bring us together as one. I am showing you that you don’t need alot to bring your family together. Just look around and use the natural resources from the land.
