Junior School News

Thank you so much to all the families who attended our New Families Social Night on Thursday 13th February as well as the Family Fun Night which was held on Thursday 20th February. Events such as these provide great opportunities to meet other families within the school and build relationships.

Parents and families play an important role in supporting their child’s education. Research has shown that when schools and families work together, student’s academic results will often improve, they are more engaged with their school work, have better social skills and improved behaviour as they become aware that both their teacher and parents are working together to support them.

We are very fortunate at Weeden Heights to have supportive families who want to work closely with the teachers. In the junior grades, this is particularly important as students develop a connection to the school and build strong relationships with the teachers and other students. If you ever need to speak to your child’s teacher please feel free to call the office so an appointment can be made or discuss a suitable time to meet with the teacher before or after school when you are dropping off or picking up your child.
