Wellbeing

World Teachers’ Day

Thank you to all of the team at OLHC who are part of supporting the children from Prep to Year 6 with their love for learning and wellbeing. This team goes well beyond the classroom. Yesterday two Year 3 children spent many hours creating this detailed and rather magnificent poster below. They brainstormed between them all of the staff from the Library, Tuckshop, Admin office, Jose, Class teachers, LSOs, Mr. Green and so many more, who go together to make the team at OLHC. The conversations were impressive, funny and rather insightful.

As part of World Teachers’ Day let’s acknowledge and thank everyone from the OLHC team. HAPPY WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY!

As we all return to school on Wednesday Nov 3rd it should be ‘World Parents’ Day’ where you can celebrate your teaching achievements and that you now no longer have to wear the hat of being the remote learning teacher and mum or dad. I hope you all manage this change smoothly and easily!

Daniel Morcombe Foundation

Thank you to everyone who brought along their gold coin donation to support the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. So far we have raised $150.00 and we have also learned lots about keeping ourselves safe.

Squid Game

Netflix record breaking series warning for parents and educators

Squid Game is a series streaming on Netflix that is not only breaking the ‘most-streamed series ever’ record,  but it’s also filtering down to some of our youngest children in our primary schools. We were recently made aware of school children as young as 6 being exposed to this Netflix show. If you haven’t yet watched Squid Game, it’s certainly not designed for young people’s eyes, that’s for sure! However, they are seeing it or being exposed to aspects of it through Netflix, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and even Roblox.

Please read further to find out more.

Enjoy this special long weekend

Best wishes
