The Marist College Ashgrove Music Department is grateful to have come together as a community for our annual Soiree last Friday 10 September. This concert is the culmination of the 2021 Concert Season which also farewells our graduating seniors. It sees the Champagnat Centre transformed into a vibrant event space hosting over 600 guests who were entertained by all of the College’s large and small ensembles performing across three stages. The evening was a great success with all ensembles performing to a very high standard. Thank you to all members of the College community who were able to attend in celebration and also to the Music Staff, P&F, College Tech Crew and Services Teams for their contributions. Of special mention are the Year 12 Co-curricular Music Students, some of whom have been involved in the co-curricular music program since starting at Marist College Ashgrove in Year 5. Congratulations boys and thank you for your commitment.

Earlier in the day, the Music Department was delighted to present the Grandparents Day concert. Following last year’s cancellation of this long-standing College event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was wonderful to return to a near-full Champagnat Centre hosting over 700 Grandparents who were enthralled with the showcase of music on display. Congratulations to all ensembles involved on their outstanding performances.

While these events mark the conclusion of weekly rehearsals for our Co-curricular Ensembles and the 2021 Concert Season, Term 4 will see some ensembles continuing to be involved in College Events such as Graduation and Prizegiving. Details for these events will be communicated via email and the College App. Thanks to all members of the co-curricular music program for your participation and commitment throughout the year. We look forward to more exciting music making in 2022.
