Personal Hygiene at School

The Brisbane area and Queensland, in general, has moved safely towards the end of term. Students have been reminded to maintain their personal hygiene whilst at school, including the regular washing of hands during the day and using hand sanitiser when moving between classes. If feeling unwell, students should remain at home. This is a great way to combat infections and maintain a healthy school community.

Term 4 Summer Uniform Requirements

The boys will be returning in Term 4 wearing their summer uniform.  Boys in Years 5 to 11 will wear the College grey short sleeved shirt and shorts/trousers, whilst the Year 12 students will continue to wear their blue long sleeved shirts with tie and shorts/trousers.  Please see uniform requirements below:

A reminder of the College expectations regarding hair and grooming from page 20 of the Student handbook:

Hair must be clean, brushed and generally neat – off the ears and collar and, when brushed forward, out of the eyes.  There must be no extremes or variations to hair colour nor layered, rigid or undercut hair.  The shortest length is a blade 3.  A conservative “College cut” is recommended.  All boys must be clean-shaven during the school day and at all College events.  Sideburns may not be below the level of the earlobes.

The curtain fringe style of cut popular with some boys at the moment does not comply to College expectations as when brushed forward, covers the eyes.

Student Drivers

As we move further into the calendar year, the number of student drivers has increased. A reminder that all students who drive are to have the details registered on the student car rego dashboard.  Please visit the parent portal to update your son’s details.

So far this year I have had very few complaints from neighbours or parents regarding dangerous driving, often involving inappropriate speeds when students are leaving in the afternoon.

Unfortunately, this trend has changed in recent weeks. If your son drives to school, please engage in a conversation about safe driving in built up areas. It is a topic that needs to be addressed continually with young men.
