Visual Art News

The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art recognise and promote excellence in senior Visual Art education throughout Queensland. Since 1990, the program has helped raise community awareness of the degree of sophistication in concepts, diversity of technical competence, and the high standard of Visual Art education in Queensland secondary schools. Whilst judging is yet to take place, four of our Year 12 students are representing our College in this prestigious competition, Darcy Knight, Dino Lopes, Sam Jensen and Angel Butten. The central exhibition for the Metropolitan Region’s exhibition will be held at the Brisbane Institute of Art, Windsor from the 9-16 October.

We would also like to congratulate Alistair Malghem (Year 7) who has been awarded the August “Artwork of the Month” for his ceramic cultural mask and Beau Hayes (Year 10) who is the recipient for the September “Artwork of the Month” for his self-portrait painting as part of the unit, “Youth Culture.”
