David's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We were do excited for our Preps, 1/2 and 5/6 students to return this week, allowing us to get back to what we really love doing; connecting in person and learning collaboratively. There are a few changes to some important events that we have sent out via communications in the last week; Grade 3/4 camp has been shifted to the end of term to give the maximum chance that this will be able to take place. We have also had to cancel the swimming program for this year but have booked a longer time for 2022 so that students get more time to practise this essential skill. We will share information with parents about the refund of swimming moneys as soon as possible. We are busy planning our Art Show and Festive Concert and will do everything we can with the restrictions to make something special happen for our students and families.

As we get back to normal service at school, please take care on the roads around the school. We know it can get busy at drop off and pick up time, so it might be worth choosing a gate with your child and thinking about where best to meet them. We can often have neighbours of the school chatting with us at times like these - it can frustrating to have cars blocking driveways, so please ensure you do not park across anyone's driveway and follow the directions on the signs for parking. This way we will keep our students safe and our neighbours happy!

The grounds are blooming!
The grounds are blooming!

The school grounds have been getting ready for our students with flowers springing out everywhere. We love how the native species like the Callistemon (Bottle Brush) or the Carpobrotus (Pig Face) are maturing and filling out the gardens under our Ash Tree. Students have been enjoying these as they do their writing outside this week. The next stage of the gardens have been finalised with the architects for our Inclusive Playground that was co-designed by parents, students and the Buildings and Grounds Committee. This has now gone out to tender and we hope it will begin work before the end of the year. Can you spot the parkour trail, the secret sensory circle hidden in the bamboo forest, or a bridge over the dry creek river bed?
