Steve Kinrade

Steve Kinrade

It is with great sadness that I advise that Steve Kinrade, Performing Arts teacher at our Bundoora Campus, passed away last Friday.

Steve came to our school at the beginning of 2015 from Strathmore Primary School. Steve was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2015 and did not  return to school this year as he concentrated on his health.

As a demonstration of Steve’s commitment to public education and the students of Concord School, he attended the State School’s Spectacular at Hisense Arena just a few weekends ago to watch our students perform. I was pleased to be able to spend a few minutes talking to Steve as he was hospitalised the following day.

Steve made a significant contribution in his short time within our school. He was an extremely talented musician and he coached our choir, musical and dance groups to some memorable performances.

The students at the Bundoora Campus will be informed of Steve's passing after 11am today. The information will be sensitively delivered to class groups by Sharon Ouliaris (Student Wellbeing Coordinator) and your child's class teacher at your child's level of individual understanding. Please contact the school this morning if you have any concerns in regard to this or contact Life Line on the following link.

The thoughts of our entire school community are with Steve’s family.

Yours Sincerely,
