Whole School News
The end of the year is nearly here and hasn't it been action-packed? We would like to share the end of year arrangements for students.
The VCE students have now finished for the year, along with the Year 10s. We wish them all well as they prepare for life after school, or for their return to complete their senior studies.
The last day for Prep to Year 9 students will be Wednesday 16th December. The day will finish at the normal time, 3pm.
Parent Teacher Interviews will take place on Thursday 17th December. They are not compulsory, and take the format of personal appointments. If you wish to speak to your child's class or home group teacher you can contact them via email or Compass and book a time to visit. If there are particular teachers you wish to speak with then please contact them directly via email or Compass.
Friday 18th December will be a student free day.
Please see the calendar at the start of the newsletter for school start dates for 2016.
School Fees
School fees, Instrumental fees and Notebook fees are available to pay online in Compass. If you wish to pay at the office please complete the online steps and choose 'pay in person'. A payment plan option is included. Further options are available in person by contacting one of the principals for an appointment. The payment of fees by families allows us to provide the very best school programs.
Primary News
The Primary School is a hive of activity at the moment. Students are practising for graduation, cooking, cleaning, finishing off all sorts of projects, making things – from shields to cards and anything in between, and of course some learning in the mix too!
We have had a busy term in the primary school with a number of camps running as well as the Primary School Concert – Top That! It was a lovely evening and a great way to showcase and celebrate the diversity of the classes at the school.
I was also privileged to attend a performance by the 3-4 Reggio grade at the Docklands recently. It was an amazing performance – the students had written the long script, based on the story of one of the wharfies (he was present for the performance) who was part of the fight for safe working conditions in the middle of last century.
We have had the School Dental Van come to visit – to give some checkups and some Oral Health talks – the students had a fun time and learned some interesting facts about teeth – especially how to take care of them.
Next week, we are all looking towards ‘step up’ day where students will move up to their 2016 classroom for the morning, to see which room they will be in and meet and find out about their teacher (if possible).
On behalf of the Primary School teachers, we wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. A huge thank you to parents for all the work you do in the classrooms and behind the scenes: attending excursions (so many who came to the swimming lessons as well as camps and park walks – the list goes on); listening to students read; baking for the market; working at the market; doing craft for the Spring Fair and so on, and so on and so on.
Also an enormous thank you to our community volunteers; the gardeners, the kitchen volunteers, community members who come in to run clubs, those who listen to reading, help with homework club – once again, the list goes on. You know who you are – we thank you!

Secondary News
The secondary is still very busy all the way up to the last day with a strong focus on teaching and learning. The students are beginning to think about next year, their options and what it means to have completed another successful year. The students will be very keen to see their Semester reports that will be available online on the 16th December.
A number of camps have just returned. The 7 and 8s had a great 3 days at Phillip Island and the 8Cs learnt to surf! Our year 9 Steiner classes completed the last of their four hikes on the 6th December - they have had a challenging and fantastic time this year.
Look through the different learning community pages for more details on what is coming up, and what has already happened this term.
I would like to wish all families and students a very happy holiday and look forward to seeing all of our young people back safe and sound after a refreshing break.
Thank you to all those families who have supported our work during 2015. We look forward to you providing the same support and energy in 2016.
