China Trip Presentation Day at International Division of DEECD
On Monday, 30 November 2015 between 9.15am- 4.15pm, Liria and Lijuan took eleven students of the China Trip program to attend the International Division Presentation.
There were seven schools from across Victoria at the presentation. Our students made a fantastic presentation on the day and it was a great success.
Six students talked about their experiences in China that included travelling to seven cities, the exchange activities with our three sister schools, and a four week-homestay with families. We have enjoyed a strong relationship with Suzhou Secondary College for eleven years but we have now also developed a sister-school relationship with two more schools in Jiangsu Province – the Suzhou Art School and Kunshan High School.
Our China Trip participants sang the Aboriginal song “Ngarra Burra Ferra” at the end of their presentation, which impressed everyone there. Liria also shared highlights of her teaching experience in China at the presentation. In addition, teachers and students were combined in different groups with the other schools involved in the program to share stories and experiences, as well as participate in language activities.
China Trip Celebration Night
On the same night we held the China Trip Celebration Night, where most of the parents gathered. Dale showed a PowerPoint of the trip, and our students repeated their presentation successfully. Bridie and Solar even presented a role-play in Chinese based on their shopping experiences in China. This gathering ended at 8:30 pm. The whole day was a success - really capturing the essence of the entire trip. The students enjoyed and derived so much from this unforgettable experience.
