Whole School Swimming Carnival Report

On Friday the 14th of February, an eager Castlemaine Secondary walked down to the Castlemaine Pool for the annual swimming carnival. The swimming conditions were perfect, despite the clouds lurking in the distance. However that did not deter students from being involved in the day, jumping in to cool off all while gaining points for their house.

It was great to see a number of students supporting their house, not only vocally with large cheering but visually with some great house theme dress-ups walking around.

The day finished up with Pennyweight winning the overall male aggregate and with Kalimna winning the overall female aggregate. Overall Kaweka won the shield due to their high participation rates.

It was great to have the Sport Student Support group running a great barbeque throughout the day, ensuring everyone was well fed. We would also like to thank all the staff who assisted on the day, as it would not run as smoothly without their support.

It was also great to see the ‘Sunsmart tent’ busy all day, with Harrison Budd winning our major sun smart award.
