Premiers Reading Challenge.

KDC Library

The Victorian Premiers’ reading challenge is well under way at KDC Library. The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for life. It is not a competition but a challenge for each student to read, to read more and read more widely. The library has lots of Premiers Reading Challenge books marked with a star, either displayed or on the bookshelves.

So far, in May 2018, we have 797 students that have registered. 12 students have completed the 15 books required and 3 students have reached the limit of 100 books read in one account. The Challenge ends at the end of August just after our Book Week celebration. We will then prepare for our awards ceremony to acknowledge student achievements with Certificates and Trophies in October. This year’s special guest is Isobelle Carmody.

The following books (pictured) are Premiers Reading Challenge star books and short listed for the Children’s Book Council of Victoria - Book of the Year.

These books and more. are displayed in the Library,  be quick to borrow!
